There’s been a Camry in the Toyota range since the early 1980. The latest version of the mid-sized saloon, with it’s new and more angular styling, has been produced at Toyota’s St Petersburg plant in Russia since 2011.
It comes with a choice of two petrol engines, a 2.5 litre four cylinder with variable valve timing or a 3.5 litre V6. Both are fitted with an electronically controlled 6-speed automatic gearbox for greater efficiency and improved fuel consumption. The latest Camry offers better steering feel, improved handling and superior agility in addition to high levels of interior comfort and class-leading levels of quietness.
Inside, the car’s multimedia system can stream audio from your smartphone, as well as letting you make hands free phone calls. In addition steering wheel-mounted controls for the audio system and Bluetooth allow the driver to access all of the system's features whilst keeping both hands on the wheel. An LCD information display tracks fuel consumption and other statistics and there’s an Eco indicator to help you drive economically.
The Camry will keep you safe too, with traction control, stability control and anti-lock brakes, plus seven airbags to protect the occupants. Some models also have a reversing camera that helps you avoid hazards when parking.
