Toyota Rav4

The Toyota Rav4 is a compact SUV and it was actually the first one in this class. It was introduced in 1994. It has been a great selling vehicle due to the design, the interior, and the overall handling. It also has more than enough power for passing and light towing. The reason this vehicle was created is there was a demand for SUVs but not everyone needed the huge size.

The Toyota Rav4 was able to offer that higher from the ground seating and the optional 4 wheel drive when needed. Yet they were also able to provide a vehicle that was easy to handle and to turn. It also offered great fuel mileage so the combination make it a fast selling vehicle that forever changed the world of SUVs.

The first generation lasted until 2000 and it was both a 2 door and 4 door options. The future generations have all been 4 doors. They vehicle is offered as either front wheel or all wheel drive. There is an all electric version called the Toyota Rav4 EV that was introduced in 2002. Only 1,500 of them were offered, and most of them are found in California.

The second generation lasted through 2005, and offered many changes to the body style of the Toyota Rav4. This included defined side panels and a sloped looking front end. There were also significant upgrades to the safety features provided. The third generation spans until 2012 and offered a new version of the 4 cylinder engine. The 2103 upgrades for fourth generation include several option engine choices.
