Mitsubishi Outlander

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a mid-sized SUV that has done very well with consumers. It was introduced in 2001 and it is one of the best selling SUVs in this category. This is a four door SUV with seating for up to 5 adults. There is plenty of rear cargo space, and the back seating folds down with ease to offer more.

The first generation spans through 2004, and it offers either front or four wheel drive. The 4 cylinder engine offered enough power, but some consumers wished that they had more to work with. For the second generation, the 6 cylinder engine was introduced.

The second generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander was introduced in 2005. There were changes to the headlights.

The vehicle was also lengthened to offer more cargo space. The hood was sloped to give it a more elegant appearance. This change really went over well with consumers.

In 2012, a plug in hybrid model was introduced of the Mitsubishi Outlander. However, a full hybrid model will be introduced in 2015. Safety wasn’t the best with the first introduction of the vehicle. However, they are now on top of the list for the best mid-sized SUVs in terms of the quality, the safety, and the comfort. That says a great deal about it since there are many competitors in this particular market.
